Doing market research, we get to know the requirements of the society and strategies of our competitors and gain knowledge on how to develop our product. This is predominantly important when in the business landscape.

Market research is a process of gathering and analysing information about your target audience, competitors and market trends. It helps to enhance your product idea, identify your uniqueness and design a product that meets the needs and expectations of your customers and users.

There is a technique which I have learnt in my college that is “SWOT analysis’ ‘. Whenever you are into a business, you need to analyse the things with the rule SWOT. S stands for STRENGTHS. W stands for the WEAKNESS. O stands for OPPORTUNITIES. T stands for THREATS. 

Your product or your business needs to fulfil all the criteria of the SWOT analysis. Apart from this research technique, you also need to know the objective, outline and visualisation of your business. 

The first and the best step to start your business research is to know the customers. Who are your target audience? This can be done by conducting surveys; don’t go to a larger audience all of a sudden. Start from a smaller audience such as you can start from your family itself. Collect information likewise from various groups and sources. 

Then you can start with the marketing process. There are many ways and platforms available in the market to introduce your business to a wider audience. Social media is the most popular and rapidly growing platform to show your business. Make sure you are reachable to the maximum audience. Social media is not always a right platform to show your business. So know the right platform for your business. 

You have completed the primary steps for your business, but this is not the end. You need to analyse the things you have collected and make a proper action plan. Here the hypothetical study is required. By this you can create a target for yourself. Collect the things put together and analyse the things and accordingly create a plan that can be put into action. You can study your competitors and solve a question “what is new” in your business that people will attract for your business and your target audience increase.

Market research is all about knowing your customer and understanding their needs. You’ll get to know what other businesses are lacking and where you can create your uniqueness by fulfilling the need. This will help your business to gain a wide range of audience.

When you want to build a successful business, you need to know and implement the needs of your target audience. You can brainstorm the ideas for your business. When you satisfy a larger audience than your market value for your business will increase.

  • Your connections will increase:

When you understand your customer well, you can reach them effectively. Your business will definitely increase when you reach maximum audience. You can publish your business idea, without spending more money on marketing.

As earlier said you need to know the right platform to show your business. If your business is related to games and your target audience is elderly people, then platforms like social media will not work in maximum cases. To increase your connections you need to find a better platform.

  • Identify opportunities for growth:

When you are starting a business or launching a new idea in society, market research will help you with the opportunity or to improve your idea and grow. Imagine your area has many clothing shops and does not have a gaming centre and your next area has a gaming centre. What will happen?

Most of the people when they get time or want to spend a holiday they’ll go to a gaming centre, even if it is far from the house. Now if you open a gaming centre in your area premises, then people who cannot move far and who are nearby will come and enjoy your gaming zone. Likewise you can start product improvement and gradually put a start to the success.

  • Reduce risk:

When you are starting a business, you’ll be investing in something mostly that will be money. But sometimes, you may also experiment on ideas, strategies, concepts and thinking out of the box. Without market research you may fall into a pit when you experiment on things. To make the right approach and succeed you need to take risks but not without market research. Reasonable risk is okay in your business but loss is difficult. 

One such market strategy and out of box thought is creating an impact on every individual. This strategy is only half way long to approach every part of the world. It’s nothing but the escape room games.
